Mr. Horrocks | PrincipalMy Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Mr. Anthony Horrocks grew up in the Foothills of Salt Lake City, Utah, the beautiful Island of Oahu, Hawaii, and the big city of Toquerville, Utah. He graduated from Southern Utah University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2004, and continued his education as he received his Masters of Educational Leadership in 2007.
Mr. Horrocks began his teaching career in St. George, Utah at Sandstone Elementary, where his next 10 years would be spent as a Fifth grade teacher, Staff Developer, and a Title I Coordinator. During his first year of teaching he married the love of his life Melissa and they now have three boys that have brought so much happiness and joy into their lives.
In 2013 Mr. Horrocks became the very fortunate principal of Sunset Elementary. He feels grateful to work with such exceptional students, wonderful faculty, and an elite school community as a whole. He chooses to take the optimistic approach in all things and always focuses on doing what is best for each student.
Mrs. Moore | Learning CoachMy Email: email@example.com
Mrs. Moore has been a classroom teacher for 24 years. She has taught Fifth, Second, First, Kindergarten and was also a Reading Recovery Specialist for eight years. Currently, she is working on her Masters in Administration through Southern Utah University and will graduate in April, 2018. This will be her first year serving in the position of Learning Coach. The word "serving" is key, because her job responsibilities will include supporting all teachers and students in actively engaging in best teaching practices and learning through engagement strategies and team work. Mrs. Moore is excited to step into this new role and have the ability to work with the great teachers, staff, students and parents at Sunset Elementary!
Mrs. Moore has been married to Mr. Moore for 26 years, and they enjoy traveling, going to movies, and long walks. Their son Nate just finished living in Peru for two years and currently attends Dixie State University. One last important thing, their dog Sparky is a spoiled house dog, who enjoys scraps from the table and chasing a ball in the backyard.
Mrs. Timmons | School CounselorMy Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
My name is Jana Timmons. I am the School Counselor at Sunset Elementary. This is my sixth year as a School Counselor. I earned a Counseling Psychology degree from Brigham Young University and a Masters of Educational Psychology from the University of Utah. I have been married for 27 years and I have five children -- four sons and one daughter and I just gained a daughter-in-law this summer! So exciting! We love spending time together as a family hiking, playing games, traveling and having new adventures.
I love being a School Counselor and helping kids! I am in all the classrooms for Guidance Curriculum Presentations and I try to get to know all of the students. I offer small group counseling, especially friendship and social skills groups, for students. I also provide individual counseling which is short term and solution focused in nature. My job is to help our students in any way they may need help. I care about the students and want to make a difference in their lives.
Mrs. Cox | SecretaryMy Email: email@example.com
I was raised in some very small Nevada towns (Ely and Pioche). I attended Dixie College then stayed in Nevada until our dream to move to St. George came true in August, 2016.
I have been married for 25 years and we have two sons. Derek will be a senior this year, and Kaedon will be in 5th grade.
My favorite things to do are watch my kids play sports and cheer them on. I love to hike, bike and walk and play any sport, especially volleyball.
I am so excited to work with everyone at Sunset Elementary and get to know all the students better as the school year arrives.
