I am originally from Salt Lake City and consider Saint George my second home. I went through the education program at Dixie State University, and have really enjoyed working in the education field. I have always loved the world of technology, and try to share my excitement of it with all of our students. I have been working in the computer lab for a long time and still love it. It is fun to watch our students learn to use the computers, and work on the fun programs here at Sunset.

I was born in Madison, WI to parents who were both choral musicians. My father taught in the public school system for 33 years; my mother taught in the private sector. As a child I loved exploring the outdoors and found every possible reason to be outside. My first few jobs were as a parks and recreation lifeguard and camp counselor.

When I graduated from High School I went directly on to college. I graduated from Luther College in Decorah, IA with a BA in Religion and Philosophy and minor in Music. From there, I went on to receive my Masters of Divinity from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. Following commencement, I married and moved to New England where I lived for 10 years prior to moving to Utah.

My two children are 13 and 15 years old and were students at Sunset in the early years of our life here in Utah. Currently, I serve part time as STEM LAB coordinator.

Sonny Graham was born in Tooele and raised in the small town of Beaver Dam (between St. George and Mesquite). He graduated from Virgin Valley High School in Mesquite then attended Southern Utah University.

In 2005 while at SUU, Sonny worked part-time for the Littlefield Unified School District in Beaver Dam as a custodian. The District was needing Bus Drivers, so Sonny obtained his CDL and drove K-12 students on regular routes, field trips and to athletic events. He also became the District's first Attendance Officer. Sonny was later requested in the administration office at Beaver Dam Elementary to help the new Office Manager. He would go on to assist the Superintendent with District Transportation, and become the Health & Safety Assistant, Library and Cafeteria clerk, a Substitute and present Physical Education - all at BDES.

Seeking a change, Sonny moved to Salt Lake City in 2012. He would later return to Beaver Dam to fill a vacancy on the District's Governing Board. He served as a School Board member from 2013 to 2016.

This is Sonny's second run at Sunset Elementary, returning last summer. He is also the Tech Specialist for Legacy Elementary. He enjoys working for both Sunset & Legacy and is always happy to help!

This is my 15th year teaching. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades at three different schools.  I have a Master’s degree as well as several endorsements: ESL, Reading, Gifted & Talented, Technology, and Music.  I am married with 4 children, one of which will be getting married this year in October.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy performing all varieties of music with my husband, traveling to new places with my family, reading, gardening, and raising chickens, which I refer to as “my girls.”  It has been my life long ambitions to visit ALL 50 states, every continent, and go on a "Big Year" when I retire.

*A "Big Year" is when a person travels around the US for one year, documenting every different species of bird spotted. Whoo-Hoo!
